Elk jumper
This Scandinavian-inspired men’s size jumper features all-over colourwork, and is worked in the round from the bottom up, incorporating steeks for the armholes and neck. It is a drop-shoulder design and has a traditional straight shape. Facings are worked for the hem and cuffs; these are turned up and stitched to the inside.
Two sizes are given, S (M/L), with garment chest measurements of 110 cm (118 cm).
The yarn used is one of my favourites, Snaeldan 2-ply (available from Midwinter Yarns, https://www.midwinteryarns.com/), a pure wool fingering-weight yarn that lends itself particularly well to steeking. Three shades are used: Midnight blue, 550g (600g); Cloud, 100g (100g); and Turf, 50g (50g). It is worked at a tension of 27 sts and 30 rounds to 10 cm (in colourwork).
