Electric Ladyland
Designed to be the ultimate summer staple, Electric Ladyland was inspired by none other than Jimi Hendrix. (Purple Haze, anyone?) Much like its inspiration, Electric Ladyland is just as relevant today as it would have been at Woodstock in ’69. Its shape is timeless, with elements of design that make it practical and easy to wear. The open back splits down the middle in a flattering curve, and the daisy lace detail adds extra airflow for hot summer days, as well as an eye-catching detail at the smallest point of your waist. Modifications for a closed back, endless color combinations, and alternate strap options, make this a customizable go-to warm weather knit for any body. It is the perfect opportunity to showcase your most stunning fingering weight yarns. It would be great in linen, cotton, bamboo, and other plant-based fibers, but retains breathability even in wools, cashmere, silk and synthetics.
YARN
Fingering weight:
140 (160, 184, 212 grams)
612 (700, 804, 926 yards)
560 (640, 735, 847 meters)
If you are planning to use multiple colors, your yardage is broken down in this way:
5% straps
25% top (15% wide stripe-10% skinny stripe)
70% bottom
If you plan to knit the back closed instead of the split-back, you may want to add an additional 10-20% yardage to your bottom half color to be on the safe side.
