The Icelandic volcano and canyon named Eldgjá is the largest volcanic canyon in the world. Located in the south of Iceland, it is said to have erupted in AD 939, and is chronicled in history in a poem called Vǫluspá. The northern part of Eldgjá, including Ófærufoss, and surrounding areas, have been a part of Vatnajökull National Park since 2011. My hat pattern evokes imagery of lava flow and spiral from the peak, with landscape surrounding Eldgjá, including the waterfall.
