ABOUT ECHO
Echo the dragon is a mimic. She can change to any colour like a chameleon, whether to blend in or stand out. Not only to match her surroundings but also any array of colours at will. With skin like a liquid crystal, she can shift from bubble-gum pink to a full sunset, a shadow or sparkling water.

Like a parrot she can copy any kind of sound, from music and talking to birdsong and thunder. Echo can lull you to sleep with the sound of soft rain, calm you with a breeze rustling through leaves, or lift your mood by playing your favourite party song.

On a cold evening, Echo curls up in your lap glowing amber like a miniature fireplace as she purrs contently.

ABOUT THE PATTERN
The pattern uses double strands of yarn for the dragons body in order to work up fast.

Single strands of yarn are used like normal for all the other pieces to add finer details such as toes with talons, colourful eyes, fins and spines along the dragon’s back.

The pieces are crocheted separately and assembled by sewing.

PATTERN INFO
YARN WEIGHT: The pattern is designed using double knit yarn, which is the equivalent to yarn weight 3, light worsted, 8 ply or 11 wpi. You can use any weight of yarn that you prefer for this project, and pair it with any hook you prefer. Crocheting must be tight enough to produce a firm model. You will need a larger hook while crocheting the body with double strands of yarn (such as a 4 mm hook) and a smaller hook for all the other pieces that use a single strand of yarn (such as a 2.5 mm hook)

YARN QUANTITY: 145g/963m

TERMINOLOGY: US terminology with metric sizes.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate.

Although it is rated as intermediate, I’ve written this pattern with you in mind, and gone to great lengths to make it accessible to those of a lower skill level.
