Make your soap go farther and save all your small slivers with this pattern for the easy crochet soap saver! Makes a great gift.
We end up with a lot of small pieces of soap here, and also bars that get lost in the bathtub with the kiddos and wear away… so I wanted to find something that would help keep our soap going as long as possible.
Enter the Crochet Soap Saver! This little drawstring soap sock will give you a place to put all your tiny pieces of soap and keep it from getting lost in bath water. You can also easily hang it in the shower.
These little guys are also great additions to your line up for craft fairs as they are easy to crochet and make great gifts.
The best yarn to use for a soap sack is a cotton or cotton blend. These yarns will hold up well to the wear and tear and they can handle getting wet repeatedly and hung up to dry.
Some people like to use acrylic yarn for a crochet soap saver pattern, and this would work as well as acrylic holds up well to repeated washings, but overall cotton is the best choice.
You will want to use a thinner weight yarn, worsted or thinner, to make your soap saver bag so it will dry better. Thicker yarns will hold onto the moisture more and possibly mold or mildew.
