This pattern is based on the 2012 movie The Possession, starring Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. In the movie, a young girl is possessed by an ancient spirit, known in Yiddish as a Dybbuk. During various times in the movie when the evil spirit is present, a swarm of dark malevolent moths surrounds the girl. That’s how I arrived at the stitch pattern for these socks. This is a toe-up sock pattern knit using Magic Loop, one small circular needle, or two circular needles.
