Dune Sand
Inspired by the desert dunes at sunset, this hat is crocheted from top to bottom in a spiral pattern. A decorative band in contrasting colours adds a distinctive touch, featuring crochet stitches that mimic the movement of wavy dunes. The wide single crochet brim provides ample sun protection and can optionally be finished with wire for added structure, allowing you to shape it to your preferred style. The light and breathable material makes this the perfect summer accessory.

NOTES
This hat is crocheted from top to bottom, starting with a double magic ring, working rounds of single crochet stitches and increasing until the final crown diameter is reached. Then, the crown is crocheted in a spiral to the desired depth and finished with a decorative band in contrasting colours.
The band is crocheted using a spike single crochet which is worked into the round below (see special abbreviations). The spike stitch round is repeated in each contrast colour and finished in MC.
Finally, the brim is crocheted in single crochet stitches until reaching the final diameter. On the final round, it is advisable to add a wire which supports the brim and allows it to be shaped as desired.
