This square blanket works equally well as a new baby gift or as a stylish couch throw. The cable detail (provided in both written-out and charted form), reminiscent of arches found in the famed Spanish city of Granada, adds visual interest without being too busy.

Unlike most square blankets, Dreams of Granada is worked from the outside in. Stitches are cast on for the entire circumference, and then regular decreases are worked until just a few stitches remain. It’s fun to see the work go faster and faster as you approach the end!

Pattern includes tips for casting on a large number of stitches.
