This two pattern set has a further 20% off with code DREAM until end of Sunday 23 February. This whimsical home inspired colourwork sock pattern set, includes two sock patterns. One inspired by a charming cottage in the countryside with big rolling skies and fluffy clouds and the other of nostalgic wooden chalets in the mountains. These sock patterns are for knitters who are long for the comfort of their home (and their knitting projects!) when they are out and for those who dream of living or visiting places like these.

Country Cottage socks
Do you also sometimes dream of living in a small cottage in the middle nowhere, on a grassy hill covered in flowers? These socks are simple and fun to knit, with colourwork only on the leg of the sock and then a simple easy to knit, stockinette section for the foot. These socks have a heel, flap and gusset and a colourwork section of a cottage on the leg. The fluffy clouds in the sky section include purl stitches to add texture to the clouds. The ´grass´ section of the design uses a confetti-style multi-coloured tweed sock yarn to look reminiscent of wildflowers in the grass.

Gauge
34 sts x 44 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for ribbing and stockinette.
34 sts x 36 rnds = 10cm (4 inches) for colourwork. (This is the same gauge even though we are using a bigger needle size because for myself and many other knitters, we often knit the colourwork sections tighter than stockinette. Please check your own gauge to see if this works for you).

Mountain Chalet socks
I was always an avid fan of the cartoon Heidi and as a child. I often dreamt of one day moving to Switzerland. Then when my family had the opportunity to move there, I absolutely imagined that we would be living in one of those alpine wooden chalets that I had seen Heidi reside in with her grandpa on the television. This part of my dream was never fulfilled however, so instead I have decided to create some mountain chalet inspired socks to enjoy to wear and dream of living in the mountains!

These socks are another simple and fun pair to knit, with colourwork only on the leg of the sock, with some additional purl rows to help create texture for the chalet motif. Knit from the top down, these socks have a heel, flap and gusset. This sock has ribbing throughout the leg and foot section for a great fitting sock, inspired by the timber slats used to build traditional chalets in the mountains.
