Dots and Knots
Bust measurements of finished garment when buttoned: 31½ (34½, 39½, 43¼, 47½, 51¾, 55½) inches/80 (88, 100, 110, 121, 131, 141) cm. Size S is shown on model in photo with 1 inch of positive ease.
This is a basic wardrobe piece with inset pockets worked in a knot stitch pattern, mock rib borders, cuffs and button bands. The back is worked in the same knot stitch pattern as the pockets.
I made this cardigan to wear to work as part of my usual winter office attire of skirt, cardigan, tights and boots, but find that I wear it on weekends too with jeans and boots and love that look as well. I made one in grey to coordinate with all my winter clothes, and now that it is Spring time, I also made one in bright yellow, just for fun!
This cardigan is worked in one piece from the top down and uses short rows to shape the shoulders. The sleeves are picked up at the armholes and short rows are used the shape the sleeve cap. The front bands and neck band are picked up and worked at the end.
The pattern includes directions for long sleeves and for 3/4 length sleeve option.
