Domino Doors
This is my 300th free Ravelry pattern! Ravelry has opened my doors to kind and clever knitters from all over and I’m happy to share what I can!
Working 2 double decreases in the same row can make a domino square or rectangle. I decided a door shape would look nice. I also slightly overlapped the doors for neater top and bottom door edges. 1/4th inch doorknob-looking shank buttons are optional.
My doors are about 2.25 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall but any gauge will work here.
Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.
A sewn whip stitch was used to close the center door seam. It laid the flattest of the 3 methods I tried. See notes for more detail.
Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.
12 yards of Paton Kroy Socks yarn will make a Domino Door at gauge.
