Doily with Knitted Border
This pattern is for the knitted border. It is attached to a fabric center. The original does not include a chart.
Cut from linen an oval, nine and three-fourths inches in length, and six and one-half inches in width. Buttonhole the edge and sew on lace, fulling sufficiently to make it lie smoothly.

The pattern has been reworked and rewritten using modern language by Sarah Bradberry of Knittingand.com. The diamond section has been altered. A different way of doing K3tog. It’s called Diamond and Flag Border and includes a chart.
