Summer knitting should be easy, but no one ever said it had to be boring! The front looks deceptively simple, but turn around and check out the lace panel inserted where the cable divides at the upper back.
Work the body in one piece from the bottom up with open cables centered on the front and back. Just before dividing the work at the bottom of the armholes, you begin splitting the cable on both front and back. A simple lace insert is worked on the back, while decreases on the front shape the front neck.
The shoulders are shaped using German short-rows, then the stitches are joined using Three-Needle Bind-Off. The sleeves are worked in stockinette above a ribbed cuff, then sewn in.
A simple k2, p2 rib edging is worked along the neckline.
For those wanting to create an optional sleeveless shell, instructions for the armhole edging are included.
