Directionally Challenged
This is a pattern for a one size adult beanie. It is worked from the bottom up and features alternating Latvian braids. There is a photo tutorial included at the end of the pattern to help walk you through how to knit a Latvian braid.
Please review the pattern before printing as you may not need or want to print the photo tutorial at the end!
Materials:
Yarn:
Any worsted weight yarn will work (or leftovers), in the following quantities:
- Main Color (MC): approximately 40 grams of yarn
- Complimentary Color (CC): approximately 35 grams of yarn
If you wish to make your hat slouchy, plan on extra yarn (estimate up to 10 additional grams of yarn per additional stripe). For a fitted beanie, as pictured, you should be able to get two hats out of two average skeins of yarn.
Needles:
Size UZS 7/4.5mm needles in circular knitting method of choice (DPNs, magic loop, etc.), or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions:
- Stitch Markers (eight are required for this pattern)
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends.
A special thanks to my test knitters!
