Yarn requirements: Beehive Fingering, Patonised. 3 oz for Main Color (B), 1/2 oz of contrasting colors (A) and (C), and 1/4 oz Contrasting Color (D).

Needles: Set of 4 No. 14 Queen Bee Knitting needles [2.0mm dpns]

Measurements: Length of leg to bottom of heel flap 13½ inches.
(Pattern calls for casting on 80 sts, which will produce an 8’’ circumference leg.)

To shorten leg of sock: Work 1 inch less in ribbed cuff.

Tension: 10 sts and 14 rows = 1 inch

Construction information: Sock is knit in intarsia, so leg is knit flat, as are instep, heel and gusset. Sock is joined in the round after instep is complete in order to work the toe. Leg is sewn up the back, and each side of instep is sewn to corresponding gusset.

Pattern calls for using the Aladdin Heel, which is a method of knitting a replaceable heel flap and heel turn.
