Diamond Beach Cowl
by Tanis Gray
Inspired by Diamond Beach in southeast Iceland—where iceberg “diamonds” from the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon are sculpted by the sea—the lace pattern and gradient beads echo their crystalline forms. As light refracts through the ice, shifting shades of blue and white emerge, captured here in a design that glimmers and sparkles like the shore itself.
Cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up seamlessly and needs 340 total yards of aran-weight yarn. Smaller needles are used on the bottom and top twisted rib border, while the beaded lace portion is worked in larger needles.
