Deborah's Biking Cardigan
Designed by Deborah Newton for Classic Elite in 1988, this classic drop shoulder Cardigan with Guernsey like knit/purl patterning was originally knit in Cambridge Cotton/Wool. Song Wool/Cotton is an excellent substitute. We’ve altered the pattern to knit the body in one piece to the underarm and worked the sleeve from the body down to the cuff. We’ve added additional sizes to ensure a fit just right for all.
Noted author and designer Deborah Newton has been one of the most prolific hand knitting designers for decades! Her library of designs is beyond extensive and like Deborah’s Biking Cardigan, her classic designs look as current today as they did way back when.
