Darling Bud Baby Blanket
by Sophie Wire
This cute blanket was designed for my niece, who was born in May. She is indeed a Darling Bud, which is a reference I have borrowed from Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, by way of H.E. Bates’ 1958 novel ‘The Darling Buds of May’, televised during my childhood, and filmed very close to where I was growing up.
Crocheted in chunky yarn it is a quick project, featuring what I like to think of as opening flowers- perfect for your own little bloom!
Sample is worked in Debbie Bliss ‘Winter Garden’, but you may wish to choose a more washing machine-friendly yarn.
This pattern is written in UK terminology, but I’m happy to help you translate to US, please just ask.
