Sedate ribbing in the center of this snuggly rectangular shawl explodes on either end into zigzagging stripes of colorful lace. This project begins with a provisional cast on and works across the ribbing in the main color and the first lace edge in a set of contrasting colors. Afterward, stitches are picked up from the provisional cast on for the second lace edge. Knitters may add or subtract repeats of either the ribbing or the lace patterns to customize the shawl’s length. Dancing Ledge is easy to knit, but makes a stunning final product packed with ways to play with color.
All instructions are both written and charted.
