Cut and Out Jacket
This pattern will be available in June 2025
CONSTRUCTION
This double-sided jacket is based on a winning design issued in Vogue Knitting Magazine called “Floral Wave Jacket”.
I decided to publish it as an independent pattern, with a few improvements: The sleeves start with a straight line, not in the middle of an opening; they are now flexible lengthwise, and the body has button options.
There are also two charts to choose from, a floral one (as the original show) and a psychedelic one for a more modern look.
The jacket is worked bottom-up in one piece up to the underarms, then fronts and back are worked separately to shoulders. The left front edge is straight; the right front edge is shaped to follow the shape of the pattern.
The sleeves are worked flat in one piece, bottom-up to the cap. Then, the edges are seamed together to create the diamond-shaped cutouts. The cap is worked flat to the top; the center of the cap is positioned above the sleeve seam.
