Crocodile Kerchief
One of the things I enjoy adding to my designs is the ability to easily adjust them. This kerchief is one of those kinds of designs. You start with one crocodile stitch then just keep adding a stitch on each end until you get the size you want. This allows you to choose any yarn or hook you want and not have to worry about getting it “right.” Just stop when you’re done! Need a shawl instead of a kerchief? Keep crocheting!
For this kerchief, I had one ball of the Wolle’s Color Changing Cotton and about half of another ball left over from the Mango Sundress pattern. I knew I wouldn’t have enough for a shawl, but more than enough for a couple of kerchiefs.
-- Basic instructions are for an adult kerchief measuring 18” wide before the ties are made.
-- For smaller kerchiefs, measure from the bottom of the ear, over the top of the head and back down to the bottom of the ear.
-- For a shawl, just keep going until the piece is as large as needed.
-- Symbol chart and detailed stitch photos included.
