Crochet Coaster or Doily Motif
This is a PDF photo tutorial PATTERN
The coasters or doily motifs measure 11.5cm / 4.6in and I made them using 100% mercerized cotton (sport weight), which is quite sturdy and has a nice shine to it.
These coasters are my original design. Although I designed them as drinks coasters, you could of course also use them as appliqués or motifs on anything you would like to embellish: cushion covers, boxes, bags… See the photos for a few ideas.
This design is suitable for BEGINNERS since it has clear written instructions, explanations of the slightly more intricate stitches and a lot of photos. If you are familiar with the basics of crochet then it will not be a problem at all to make these.
I use American terms in the patterns, but a list with the equivalent British terms has been included too.
