Crochet Baby Dude the Sea Turtle Amigurumi
Baby Dude is here to surf the Easter Australian Current right into your heart. This is a quick pattern, so he could have a whole bale (yep, that’s what you call a bunch of turtles) of brothers & sisters in no time!
The knit version is available here http://petitepurls.com/Summer11/summer2011_p_turtles.html
The example was made with various worsted weight (8 or 10 ply) yarns & US size F (3.75 mm) hook, & measure about 6 inches from flipper tip to tip & 3 1/2 inches across the shell. Almost any correct yarn/hook combination will work with this advanced beginner/intermediate pattern, so he could be made larger or smaller with different yarn/hook combinations.
The shell is worked in one piece, with the head, eyes, & fillippers worked separately & sewn on. All you have to know how to do is single crochet, decrease, increase, work in a spiral, & basic sewing. Stitch descriptions & helpful links to tutorials are included.
