Crevasse Redux Shawl
This half-hexagon fingering-weight shawl is shaped with the use of M1 increases for a semicircular shape. It features bands of plain stockinette interspersed with geometric lace motif bands. The sample was knit using one Transitional Pack (colorway: Winter Storm) from Wooly Wonka Fibers that features four 100-yard gradient skeins, and a skein of a tonal-dyed colorway (for the lace bands and final stockinette repeat in the Avalon colorway).
Techniques: Knit/Purl, M1 using a lifted increase (described in text), basic chart-reading skills, beginning lace knitting skills including yarn-overs, and SSK, K2tog, and center-oriented decreases. Note that the lace sections are presented in chart form only.
You will need approximately 425 yards of the Transitional Pack (or of a single color of yarn) and approximately 250 yards of a tonal-dye colorway (for the lace sections).
Note that there is also a version of this pattern originally written for handspun and featured in the Ennea Collective. This version has been updated for a commercial fingering-weight yarn, and has been enlarged in size as well from the original.
