Cozy Code Beanie
One stitch pattern – so many looks!
Every single hat you see here is made with the exact same crochet stitch pattern – yet they all look completely different. The magic lies in how you arrange the colors. The pattern includes 6 repeatable color charts (each one used for the hats in the photos), plus a bonus chart that combines the best of them all. Honestly, I couldn’t stop myself and ended up making 8 hats – the stitch is so soothing and easy to memorize that it becomes a little addictive! Of course, you can also invent your own stripe sequence to create a hat that’s uniquely yours.
The shape is flexible too: work it closer-fitting for a neat beanie look, or add a little length for a relaxed slouchy style.
You’ll love this design if you:
- Enjoy simple, rhythmic patterns because crochet feels like meditation.
- Want to try mosaic overlay crochet with a small, friendly project.
- Like mix-and-match designs – follow the given color combos or sketch your own with playful stripes.
- Make family sets – the wide size range works beautifully for matching hats.
- Appreciate stash-busting patterns – combine leftover yarns of the same weight in endless ways.
- Prefer adaptable designs – adjust size, shape, or yarn type to suit your needs.
- Crochet for charity – even with Beginner+ skills, you can quickly whip up warm, unique hats without getting bored.
- Sell your makes – one pattern gives you endless variety just by changing yarn and colors, for kids and adults alike.
