These delightful fingerless mitts feature a sideways knit cabled cuff, which is worked in a garter stitch background for easier cabling.
Perfect for gifting!
SIZE
Small(Medium:Large) to fit up to 16½(19:21½)cm/ 6½(7½:8½)“ hand circumference. Each finished mitten measures 14½(17:19½)cm/ 5¾(6¾:7¾)” around at the palm and is 21½cm/8½“ long.
MATERIALS
4ply/fingering weight yarn with approximately 320 metres/350 yards per 100g. You will need 75g.
The pictured sample was knitted with baa ram ewe ‘Titus’ in Bramley Baths.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
2.75mm/US 2 needles for flat knitting.
A stitchmarker.
TENSION/GAUGE
33 sts and 36 rows/rounds per 10cm/4” in blocked stocking stitch/ stockinette. 30 sts (maximum cuff width) and 36 rows (main pattern length) of the cuff pattern measures 7cm/2¾“ long and 7cm/2¾” wide after blocking.
Adjust needle size as necessary to achieve the specified tension.
