County Fair Chicken
This pattern was written for a 4H summer camp hosted by the Yarn Barn of Kansas. 4H is a US based federal program for youth. The purpose of the camp was to learn crochet and have a completed entry for the Fiber Arts category. The pattern does not include instructions on how to crochet, only how to make the completed stuffie.
Materials:
5 colors of Sirdar Happy Cotton
3.5mm (us E) crochet hook
Locking stitch markers or scrap yarn for a counting thread
Tapestry needle
15mm safety eyes
Polyfill or yarn scraps, fabric and dry beans, etc to use as stuffing
With this size hook, your chicken will be about 4” tall and there will be enough yarn to make two chicken with matching outside body color. Using a larger hook and/or looser gauge will result in more yarn being used and a larger completed project.
