Concamerate Shell or Tunic
by Janet Brani
A simple tweak on an old favorite … the granny square gets thrown a curve! There are so many ways to create this easy-wearing top, and the “recipe” / pattern will guide you as you design your one-of-a-kind shell or tunic!
Any yarn, from sock to worsted, can be used. Hook size is two sizes larger than normally recommended for chosen yarn.
Schematic will guide in sizing and joining.
Top is produced from two squares and uses a join-as-you-go method to eliminate the need for seaming.
Instruction is provided to edge with a simple, one-round shell stitch or a multiple round, elongated side edging to create a tunic length top.
**** ERRATA: pattern updated 8/31/13, if you have a printed copy, see project file for errata details*****
