My experience in almost every coffee shop I’ve ever visited is that no matter what the outdoor temperature is, the coffee shop is chilly. I’m sure they do this just to encourage us to buy more cups of coffee. Those sneaky baristas!

To help warm you up when you’re spending time in a coffee shop, I’ve designed this drapey shawl. It’s perfect to wear with a little black dress or with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

The shawl is asymmetrical in shape. Three texture or lace sections are encased in ridges of garter stitch. Keep knitting until you run out of yarn and then wrap this beauty around you to fight the chill.

So grab your coffee, your yarn, and your needles and cast on your shawl. Happy Knitting!

This shawl is knit flat.

The knitter needs to be comfortable with the following techniques: knit, purl, k2tog, kfb, ssk, yo, and slipping stitches. Instructions for all these techniques are included in the pattern.

Yarn Notes:

  • Each of the 3 skeins of yarn should be a different colourway.
  • I recommend using solid or tonal colourways.
  • If you want to use a variegated colourway, I recommend that you use no more than 1 with the other colourways being solid or tonal.

This pattern includes instructions in written form.
