Coffee Bean Cardigan
August 2023 Update! Pattern has been revamped to have a smaller neckline. So if you see notes in projects about casting-on for a smaller size to achieve a smaller neck, this is no longer necessary with v3 of the pattern. To see if the copy you have is indeed v3, look at the last page of the PDF (in the bottom copyright area) and you’ll see a note about which version it is.
In 2009 I released Little Coffee Bean cardigan, one of my very first designs. And 10 years later, I’m so happy to release this adult version of the design! Why should only babies have all of the striped cardigan fun?
Coffee Bean is a simple top-down, seamless cardigan and would make a great first sweater for beginner knitters (or just a fun, relaxing knit for those more experienced). It uses worsted-weight yarn (I used Berroco’s Ultra Wool) and features an easy 2 row striping pattern. I also created a tips page that includes some helpful photo tutorials (links in pattern). The hardest part will be deciding on which 2 colors you want to pair together!
