Co-purr-nicus
This pattern is designed with minimal seaming & includes customized stuffing technique for maximum shaping retention. The stuffing tutorial is included free with the pattern and has written instructions and photo tutorials where needed. The tutorial allows for firm stuffing while maintaining all of that shaping you so meticulously knit, (only to have it stretch out once you stuff the critter when stuffed the “regular way”). I will never again stuff my toys the “old way”.
This pattern also includes step-by-step advice on simple embroidery techniques as well as an optional tutorial for customizing large doll glasses with felt cutouts.
Skills required for this toy are; knitting in the round, afterthought heel, 3 needle bind off, increase (Kfb), decrease (K 2 tog) & working flat in garter stitch & stockinette.
Copurrnicus (as in the prototype model) requires approximately 170-180 yards of main color in DK weight, (OR use any weight yarn as long as needle size is adjusted to insure tight stitching tension).
Additional materials for completion include; small amount of sock yarn for his bow tie, fiber filler, knee high hose, embroidery floss, sharp embroidery needle & a tapestry needle as well as optional doll glasses, felt & glue.
