Clematis Seed
This brioche rib hat is knit in the round from the bottom up. It ends in a swirl that looks like a clematis seed pod. It’s a perfect project for perfecting your two color brioche rib technique. Knit a snug beanie, or a taller hat so you can turn up the cuff. Knitter’s choice!
Clematis Seed is the first and simplest in a series of brioche knit hats. You can purchase this pattern separately, or the Brioche Hat Trick e-book which includes patterns for three hats and two cowls. (A hat trick is 3 goals by the same player in a hockey game. Are these hats your goals?)
July 2020: I’ve added a tutorial for another way to handle the tricky bits at the beginning/end of rounds; see my PDXKnitterati Tutorials page if you’d like to try an alternate way.
