Christmas Mini Stocking
This unassuming little pattern is a joy to make!
The pattern requires only a total of about 10 m (11 yd) of material of two colours and about 30 to 45 minutes to work, depending on how elaborate you want the result to be.
The techniques are basic: chain, slip stitch, single crochet and double crochet.
Choose any colours you like and make contrasting stockings!
Optionally, adorn the stocking with seasonal mini buttons or bells. A small, thin chocolate or a mini candy cane fit perfectly inside.
Over the course of a few years a while ago, I have made a few hundred stockings for all the students in my classes. They were quite intrigued when I asked them to tell me their 2 favourite colours.
Explanations Through Detail Photos:
1: shows change of colour at the end of Row 4C
2: shows beginning of Round 5 - work 4 stitches on the (white) side of Rows 4A, 4B, and 4C.
3: continue Round 5 with 6 more stitches
4: shows ending of Round 5 - work 4 stitches on the other (white) side of Rows 4A, 4B, and 4C
5: join Round 5 (you should have 14 stitches)
6: start Round 6 with a decrease, followed by 10 stitches, finishing with a decrease, for a total count of 12 stitches.
Enjoy!
