This design is a celebration of as much of Canada as I could include in 24-stitch charts. While it is definitely not an exhaustive list of what makes Canada a great country, it gives knitters an opportunity to create THEIR Canadiana. Can you make it if you’re not Canadian? Well, of course you can. While this design is called Choose Your Canadiana Cowl there are plenty of charts for everyone to create something special.

Included are instructions for an infinity style cowl and a regular style cowl as well as 50 charts to mix and match. The infinity cowl begins with a provisional cast on and is grafted together using Kitchener Stitch.

This pattern includes charts for Canada Goose, Patriotic Beaver, Beaver, Mountie, Lumberjack, Sasquatch, Moose, Gaggle of Geese, Crane, Tree, Elk, Lobster, Wolf, Large Maple Leaf, Polar Bear, Snowflake, Mountains, Lighthouse, Pine Cone, Loon, X Country Skier, Buffalo, Pine Tree, Wheat field, Animal Tracks, Black Bear, Canoe, Orca, Lacrosse, Parliament, Moccasins, Double Double, Toque and Mittens, Poutine, Heart Berry, Maple Syrup and Pancakes, Small Maple Leaves, Inukshuk, Hockey, Snowshoes, Curling, Sturgeon, Infinity Symbol, Beer, Skating, Fish, Snowstorm, Butter Tarts, Waves, Nanaimo Squares, as well as a few micro charts.

Most charts can be knit using two colours, however, some of them have more detail that require more than 2 colours. Duplicate stitch can be used to add the detail if you prefer.

This is a collaboration with Baa-realis Fibre using their Canadiana Collection Yarn Kit, inspired by the iconic Hudson’s Bay Company colours.
