US7 / 4.5mm, or size to obtain gauge
Larger needle if required for loose cast on

Gauge
13.75 sts and 24 rows = 4in / 10 cm in lace pattern (blocked)
Precise gauge is not necessary, but alterations in gauge will affect yarn requirements.
