Cheese & Wine
This pattern is a warm-up sock for the Sock Madness Forever group.
What might begin with a mere 64 stitches per round comes around to be almost 25,000 posts in the team thread over the next year, then a WhatsApp group, and two years on, the group still circles the globe and shares pictures, laughs and celebrations. The lesson: sock madness friendships live on. And on. And on. Start knitting. Start chatting. - Genmai
You know that feeling when you don’t see a friend often, but when you see them it just feels right? Sometimes you don’t even have to see these friends. Team F 2020 was spread out all around the world and just couldn’t be stopped. Two years later we can say they have become friends and none have ever even met. - Flamegurl
What you may need:
Fill the cheese platter with your favourite cheeses; Cheshire cheese, Cheddar, Squeaky Cheese, Feta, Boursin, String Cheese, Swiss cheese or Gouda.
Go down to the wine cellar and find a bottle of your favourite. Although it doesn’t need to be exactly a wine; Port or Baileys will also work. Or anything non-alcoholic, like grape juice, or even sparkling water maybe?
And for the rest:
Work each section with a new colour for fun scrappy socks, or use just a single yarn with the contrast colours when necessary. The pattern uses a variety of techniques – it is possible you may need to switch needle sizes between the different sections to ensure that your socks will not turn out too tight or too loose.
Happy knitting all!
