Checkerboard Baby Blanket #713
This baby blanket is very quick and easy to knit. It makes a lovely gift for a baby shower or to celebrate a newborn. If you enjoy embroidery, you can embroider the checkerboard squares with the baby’s initials, or with flowers, ducks, puppies, sailboats, baseballs – any motif that strikes your fancy!
The stitch pattern is presented in written format.
Skill Level: Easy
Finished Measurements: 24” (61 cm) wide x 30” (76 cm) long
Materials: 500 yards (457 meters) super bulky weight yarn
Needles and Notions: One 24” (60 cm) long or longer circular needle, size US 10 (6 mm), OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE; stitch markers
Gauge: In Woven Pattern, 15 sts and 211/2 rows = 4” (10 cm), unstretched.
NOTE: Gauge is not essential for this project, but any change in your gauge may affect the finished measurements and the amount of yarn required.
