ChainChainChain
This pattern brings a 2-color brioche hoody-hat, with attractive neck warmer in 3-cable braiding chains. I hope - something different & new! You can wear both sides, like two different items. It can be worn in several different ways. An unisex winter accessory in elastic fabric. This neck warmer part can be done in the round, too, but here I gave a flat, frontal zipped version (that doesn’t spoil makeup and hairstyle). You can also use this pattern for a turtleneck or scarf. Scarf has a symmetrical arrangement of braids and I gave a special explanation for this – you have 3 patterns in 1!
SIZE – one size; this is very elastic fabric:
Hood: circumference - 52cm/21”, depth – 23cm/9.2”
Neck warmer: circumference - 45cm/18”, width (height) - 16cm/6.4”
You need :
1. Skills: Intermediate brioche- knitting knowledge; (3-cable) braiding;
2. Needles:
* 16” (40cm) circular needle (or a pair of longer double pointed needles) in US 7/4,5mm;
If you need one size smaller hood (for a child 10-12 years old), use US4/3.5mm needles;
* 2 cable needles (US 7/4,5mm);
* tapestry needle;
3. Yarns – shown hoody neck warmer, normal (women) size (L/XL), is made with:
* 4 1/2 balls M(ain)C(olor) yarn (beige, Panton 13-1012, frosted almond with gold lame) weight #4
(Velour-lame by ggh GmbH, Italy, 58m or 63yds/25gr). In total ~262m or 286yds;
* 1 1/2 balls C(ontrast)C(olor) yarn (black) DK weight #3 (Drops Baby merino, 175m or
191yds/50g). In total ~262m or 286yds;
* You can use any DK weight and worsted yarn, tightly stranded, to your choice (CC yarn can
be thinner than MC yarn);
4. Stitch markers – 9;
5. Zipper 16-18cm (for jackets, that are shortened to desired length) or (optional) 3-5 buttons,
Please note: Sorry, but this pattern is not suitable for beginners knitting skill levels. You have photo/ video tutorials to show important methods/steps/stitches used in this work - if you’re willing to learn something more. Please read this:
