Cerasee is an asymmetrical shawl worked sideways. The project begins at the shorter edge, and increases are made on only one side. The result is a stunning mosaic fabric with a striking visual effect. The geometric pattern unfolds beautifully yet is simple to create.

This project is ideal for adventurous beginners; it uses only simple stitches and one color at a time. Choose two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn and continue working until you have used all your yarn.

SKILL LEVEL
Adventurous Beginner/Intermediate

FINISHED MEASUREMENT
Approximately 59.5”/151 cm wingspan (at increase edge) x 29”/74 cm deep (at widest point)

MATERIALS
Yarn: Treasure Goddess Yarn, Treasure Yak Toe Sock Yarn (70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Yak, 10% Nylon; 437 yards 400 meters/100 grams): 1 skein each of C1 Tarnished Brass (gold) and C2 Land Ho! (green)
Hook: US size 6/G (4.0 mm) or size to achieve gauge
Extras: Tapestry needle

GAUGE
22 sts and 25 rows = 4” in scblp pattern (blocked)
21 sts = 4” and 30 rows = 4.5” in mosaic pattern (blocked)
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but varying gauge will affect your final shawl measurement and the amount of yarn you use.

PATTERN NOTE
On the RS row, work into both loops of the stitch for the first and last stitches only.
On the WS Increase Row, increase on the first stitch (work two sc in the first st) and sc in both loops for all remaining stitches across the row.
Change color on the last stitch at the end of every WS Row. Carry yarn not in use up the side of the shawl, being careful to not pull too tightly.
