Carabe
If you purchase 5 of my self-published designs at the same time (they need to be in the same cart), you will get the least expensive for free!
Carabe is a seamless striped cardigan knit from the top down.
The design uses contiguous method of shaping set-in sleeves developed by Susie M.
It is is worked in Stockinette stitch mostly with several Carabe Stripes located on the yoke and next to bottom hem and cuffs. After completing the whole body you will make ribbed front bands and a shawl collar. The shawl collar will be shaped using short rows. At the end the whole band is finished with I-cord bind-off.
Sizes
Sizes: 28/30 (32/34, 36/38) 40/42, 44/46, 48/50;
The cardigan should be worn with no or little amount of positive ease.
Yarn
Malabrigo Rios (100% merino; 100g / 210 yards).
Sample was made in colors lettuce (MC) and azul profundo (CC).
Approx yardage: MC/CC 4/1 (4/1, 4/1) 5/2, 6/2, 7/2 skeins.
size M: if you are tall and generally lengthen your garments, I recommend buying 1 more skein of MC yarn.
Needles
3.75 mm / US #5 circular needle (60 cm / 24” long) and #5 dpns.
4.5 mm / US #7 circular needle (60 cm / 24” long) and #7 dpns.
Other
6 (6, 7)7, 8, 8 buttons (about 2.5 cm / 1” in diameter), interlocking stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving, stitch holders / scrap yarn.
Gauge
18 sts and 25 rows in 10 cm / 4” in St st worked flat with larger needles (AFTER WASHING).
Take time to save time, check your gauge. If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
