Cammie's Crash Course Blanket (Crochet)
Welcome to the pattern page for the crash course blanket crochet edition!
This pattern is undergoing some adjustments and alterations throughout 2025 for clarity and formatting. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns!
This pattern was designed for brand-new-to-crochet beginners to dip their toes into crochet with the first squares, and a new pattern or technique introduced in every subsequent square. Conceptually this is a year long project with the first 2 squares in January, and every month is a new square. Once all 12 squares are made, you’ll join them together into a throw blanket just in time for the holidays!
You will need an assortment of colors, you’re welcome to do as many as you’d like but I find it works best to have 6 distinct colors with an optional 7th for the borders. There are six solid colored squares and 6 multis so there are lots of possibilities! Yardage estimates are super approximate, I find that a single 100g skein of worsted/aran weight yarn is enough for one solid square with remainders usable for some of the multi colored squares. If you choose to lean heavier into a color you may want two skeins.
This pattern is being taught in a class format monthly through Northwest Wools in Portland OR.
