Camaret Socks
The Camaret socks are inspired by a picturesque village in Brittany, France, called Camaret-sur-Mer. It has a small fishing port and is located directly on the Atlantic Ocean. When I was designing the pattern the colours of the yarns reminded me of the sea and I was thinking of this unique and very special region of France.
This beginner-friendly sock design is worked cuff down. The pattern is a variaton of the classic broken rib and creates a simplistic yet classy look while the ribbing ensures a comfortable fit. It can be worked with two colours where one colour is used as a contrast for the heel, cuff and toe. The second option is to knit the whole sock with one colourway.
Sizes:
Adult XS, S, M, L with an ankle width of about 6/6.5/7/7.75 inches or 15/16.5/18/19.5 cm (unstretched). Due to the stretchy effect of ribbing the sock can comfortably accomodate an ankle circumference up to 9.25/9.75/10.5/11 inches or 23.5/25/26.5/28 cm
Gauge:
28 stitches x 40 rounds in pattern
27 stitches x 41 rounds in stockinette
(measured in the round over 4 in/10 cm, after blocking)
Before casting on please make sure to knit a swatch to check if your gauge is correct. If your gauge is off, consider knitting a different size or using different needles.

100 g or 250 m / 273 yards (70 g of main colour and 30 g of contrast colour) of a DK weight sock yarn
