Calluna was created to showcase the myriad colors of variegated yarns; its slipped stitch patterns shift and layer the different colors, softening and blending areas of pooling, and creating new juxtapositions of hues.

(Note: the rich textures created by the different stitch patterns would also look wonderful worked in a solid or semisolid yarn!)

Choose your favorite sock yarn, or another fingering weight yarn; shown in Malabrigo Sock, a lovely and durable superwash yarn that is offered in dozens of semi-solid and variegated colorways.

As for the fit and shape of this pullover, I used my favorite old Gap sweater as a template--not too short, not too long, not too tight, and not too loose! I finished Calluna just in time, because that old sweater, after years of service, is finally falling apart.
