Pattern uses three skeins of yarn: one dark solid/semi-solid, one light solid/semi-solid, one variegated.

Because who doesn’t love a variegated yarn? And the team at Neighborhood Fiber Co. makes the best combinations of variegated and complementary colors. I wanted to combine them to show how well they work together!

Sample uses:
MC: Palisades (blue); CC1: Charles Centre (grey); CC2: Shami (variegated)

This set of hat and mitts is a quick knit for a knitter experienced with stranded colorwork; and is also an excellent introductory project for those just starting out with the technique.

They’re worked in the round, and offer sizes for the whole family; the mitten project assumes you have a little experience making mittens. The color pattern is charted.

(Why Cabbagetown? I’ve just moved house, and that’s my new neighborhood!)

Choose a hat size with approximately 1-2 inches/2-5 cm negative ease; choose a mitten with approximately .5-1 inch/1-2.5 cm positive ease.
