By Airmail is a design inspired by my childhood memory of the edging of airmail envelopes. The colors are recreated in softer pink and blue. A rectangular wrap that can be used as a stole or scarf, it is worked on the bias in easy garter stitch.

Fingering weight
Yardage requirement (including 10% allowance):
• MC (pink): 450 m / 490 yds
• CC1 (white): 240 m / 265 yds
• CC2 (blue): 205 m /220 yds
Sample shown in Spud & Chloe Fine (80% wool, 20% silk; 65g / 2.3oz; 227m / 248yds) in the following colors: #7808 Sassafras (MC) 2 skeins, #7800 Popcorn (CC1) 1 skein, #7805 Anemone (CC2) 1 skein
NEEDLES
4 mm / US 6 circular needle of length 60 cm / 24” or longer; adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.
NOTIONS
Yarn needle
GAUGE
19.5 sts and 35 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch, blocked without stretching
16 sts and 39 rows = 10 cm / 4” in garter stitch, aggressively blocked as in the sample.
Gauge is not critical but affects the finished measurement and yardage.
