Butterfly Baby Blanket
A Japanese butterfly lace inspired blanket featuring an extra wide rib pattern with a row of butterflies at each end. Most of the knitting is simple with the textured butterfly lace pattern to add interest.
Thank you to madeleinewindsor for tech editing this pattern. It has also been test knitted to ensure a pleasant knitting experience. I have provided a YouTube tutorial to make it easier for you, link in the pattern.
I wanted to design something for a baby girl and found this very delicate pattern but also added the plain extra-wide rib pattern because I liked the way it flowed on from the design.
Yarn weight: DK. I used 880 yards.
Needles: 4mm/US6 circular needle 24 inches/60 cm long
Notions: Tapestry needle, Stitch markers (optional)
Finished size: Length: 37.5 inches/95 cm, width: 29 inches/74 cm.
Techniques used: yo, k2tog, SKP (left leaning) decrease, p2tog tbl, p2tog, k, p.
