Bushfire Sunset
This shawl was originally made especially for 2 glorious skeins of Hedgehog fibres lace weight yarn - a whole 2.4km of the stuff!
I named the shawl Bushfire Sunset because of the yarn colour and the shape of the curves in the shawl - it reminded me of the vividly coloured cloudy sky near my house after a week of bush back-burning in my local area.
In this incarnation however, it is a very ambitious, time consuming project which I know won’t appeal to many people. So I had a go at the same pattern in a much smaller size with heavier yarn. Voila, it’s a fully adaptable pattern!
A schematic diagram is provided to explain the construction and a chart for making the lace pattern. Each maker can choose how wide and long their shawl will be with clear instructions for adapting the pattern to their size.
A standard crochet hook can be used for the entirety of the shawl - as long as the shaft is long enough to hold 10 loops.
