Breaker Cowl
The Breaker Cowl calls for a provisional cast-on at the beginning so you can graft it in garter stitch at the end. This allows you to knit the piece back and forth in rows and seam it, but the seam will be totally invisible. The soft camel yarn makes this a super-warm piece, especially when you wrap it multiple times.
Finished Size 74½“ circumference and 9” wide.
Yarn Jones & Vandermeer Clever Camel (100% baby camel; 110 yd / 1¾ oz): chambray, 3 skeins.
Needles Size 9 (5.5 mm): 24” circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Size J/10 (6 mm) crochet hook; waste yarn; spare cir needle in same size or smaller than working needle; tapestry needle.
Gauge 15 sts and 20 rows = 4” in Garter Lace patt.
Notes
- This cowl is worked back and forth in rows, then the ends are grafted together in garter stitch.
- A circular needle is used to make it easier to orient the needle points correctly for grafting.
- It may be helpful to mark the right side of the work with a safety pin or removable marker.
