This is a fun hat with classic touches of a braided cabling.

You will need a 40 or 41 peg loom for this project, I used a Knifty Knitter Loom, which means the Boye loom or other brands like it will work. If you would like to get even more variety of sizing and loom choices get the “Loom Knit Costume Hats” ebook. It includes the 36peg knifty knitter loom, as well as the 44 and 59 peg 1/2 gauge CinDwood looms. You will need a stitch holder and markers for this pattern. It is also an advanced pattern for loom knitters. You will need a thick yarn no matter what because of the cabling, I ended up using only 1 skein of the Lions Brand Jiffy Thick and Quick.

The hat when made can fit a child as well as an adult.
