The Botanical Japanese Knot Bag is a handy color block purse that can be used year-round! It features the beautiful knit stitch and a leaf applique charm. This project is made completely in one piece, requiring sewing only for one end of the straps. Its size can easily be adjusted and customized.
This practical project looks great with solid colors, variegated yarn, or self-striping yarn. It is recommended to use a yarn that does not stretch, such as 100% cotton yarn. If desired, you may add a cloth lining in the bag or to the underside of the straps to add durability.

MATERIALS

• 360 yards of bulky weight 5 yarn that is non-stretchy or 100% cotton. I used KnitPicks Billow Yarn (https://shrsl.com/3zr7u): 2 skeins of off-white (240 yd) and 1 skein of green (120 yd).
• 6mm crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

★★☆☆☆ Familiar Beginner/Intermediate. Requires familiarity with stitches used (below) and changing colors.

FO = fasten off
ch = chain
sl st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st)
ks = knit stitch
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
